Abstract AITranslate

The hybrid of a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) and an electromagnetic generator (EMG) has been shown to be an effective approach toward harvesting vibration energy. Therefore, in this work, a triboelectric–electromagnetic hybrid energy harvester based on magnetic liquid is proposed. The magnetic liquid (prepared by Beijing Shenran Magnetic Fluid Co., Ltd) is made with water, an active agent, and ferromagnetic particles. Electrostatic induction between the polymer sidewall and the solvent water activates a triboelectric generator component, while electromagnetic induction between the suspended ferromagnetic particles and an outer coil activates the electromagnetic generator component. Initially, the harvester is deduced theoretically to show the feasibility of the design. Then, the output performance of the energy harvester is fully investigated under various dynamical experiments. Finally, experimental results show that the hybrid energy harvester has very low threshold amplitude and wide operating frequency range, both of which can be particularly advantageous for harvesting subtle and irregular vibrations.
