Abstract AITranslate

The development of nanoporous organic polymers (NOPs) for the adsorption/separation of acetylene (C2H2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) poses significant challenges due to their similar physical and chemical properties. This paper presents the synthesis of a carbazole-based nanoporous organic polymer (CNOP-6) through a facile Friedel–Crafts reaction using 3,6-di(9-carbazolyl)-9-phenylcarbazole as the monomer. Remarkably, the specific surface area of CNOP-6 is up to 1334 m2·g–1. CNOP-6 demonstrates a C2H2 adsorption capacity of 80.2 cm3·g–1 at 298 K and 100 kPa. The results of ideal adsorbed solution theory and breakthrough curves unequivocally demonstrate the potential of CNOP-6 as an exceptional adsorbent for the purification of C2H2 from CO2.
