This post is about an all in one Windows 8 media player app called TrueLink+. It plays video, music and display image files that stored on your computer as well as on your all local network devices. You can call it an alternative Windows Video app or music app. With this app installed you need not require to use the official Windows 8 Video, Music and Photos app.
I am sure everyone of you are now enjoying the new Windows 8 experience. The new design and architectural changes in Windows 8 give users a fresh whole new experience. Metro interface and the brand new metro apps are the highlight of Windows 8. Windows 8 is touch (tablet) friendly. So all the metro apps meet this design requirement.
Microsoft has pre-installed few essential metro apps on Windows 8. Among them there are official Windows 8 Video, Music and Photos apps. These apps are OK. But those who wants more features here I’m sharing a new Video Player app for Windows 8. Try Truelink+, an alternative Windows 8 media player app. It not only plays videos and music but also you can view images too. It’s available for free download in the Windows Store.
Truelink+ is a network media player app from sMedia, Inc. It plays all the videos and music files stored on your Windows Libraries folder and on your all home network devices. You may want to know how to add your media files to Windows 8 media library, then read the below article.
Add Videos Stored on Your Computer to Windows 8 Metro Video App
I noticed few differences between the official Windows 8 video player and alternative Truelink+ video app. As mentioned above the latter is a network media player. Other than playing the videos and other music files included in the Windows 8 media library, it looks for media files stored on your home network devices. Secondly Truelink+ plays videos and musics continuously. It plays media files one after another.
As you may have already known, on Windows 8 you can snap apps to the left or right side of the screen on a supported screen resolution of 1366 x 768. If you snap Truelink+ to left or right side of the screen, you can watch videos and browse or do any other job on the rest of the screen. The official Windows 8 video app also supports this. But like TrueLink+ it does not continuously play media files. While using TrueLink+ there is no need for you to go to full screen mode to access the complete features. It has all the full features even when the app is snapped to left or right. You can even choose videos or music files individually to play without going to full screen using TrueLink+.
In my opinion TrueLink+ is a best Windows 8 media player app. It works flawlessly on my PC. Try this and share your views below.
